KUMARI BHOJAN Hand-painted Tussar Silk Saree Blouse Set
Sold by Madhubani Paints by Asha Jha
Country of origin: India
On the aanchal of this saree, a depiction of goddess DURGA is painted, situated in a puja pandal. Some women from the pandal are engaged in celebrating the KUMARI PUJA, adorning the KUMARI girl who is seated on a golden throne, resembling an incarnation of Devi. One woman is respectfully washing the feet, treating them as if they were the Devi’s own. Another is gently fanning, while a third offers flowers and prayers. The goddess is depicted with a smile, imparting blessings to the devoted attendees who are so deeply engrossed in the puja that they perceive the KUMARI as the goddess herself. This Madhubani artwork saree is hand-painted on handloom tussar silk and is paired with a matching green tussar silk blouse. The back of the blouse has "Kumari" painted in the center. She is seated in the puja pandal, holding a lotus in each hand. Devotees in the pandal are adorning her with beautiful jewels and a god-like saree. Her feet and nails are covered with alta, and her forehead is adorned with a kumkum bindi. The captivating combination of dark green and yellow in the blouse is truly remarkable.
